Overview
Who are we?
The Ann Arbor Jaycees are people - young adults who want to make a
positive difference in our community. Ann Arbor Jaycees are also friends
who have a lot of fun together, whether we are participating in a
community service project, planning a seminar, going to a party, playing
softball, skiing, or canoeing.
The Ann Arbor Jaycees is a leadership training organization for people ages 21 to 40. Much of the leadership training is accomplished through planning and participating in community service and fund-raising activities. Other leadership skills are learned by attending and presenting at individual development and team building seminars, teaching skills to newer members, and serving on the Board of Directors.
The Ann Arbor Jaycees is not just a local group. We are also affiliated with The Michigan Jaycees, The U.S. Junior Chamber, and Junior Chamber International. These organizations provide additional events and ways to get involved. Come join tomorrow's leaders in action today!
What do we do?
People join the Ann Arbor Jaycees for many different reasons. We offer
over 100 events or activities each year so there is something for
everyone! You can choose your level of involvement from attending a few
activities here or there or you can dive right in and participate several
times a week. Whatever your lifestyle or schedule, you will find many
interesting activities in the Ann Arbor Jaycees.
Where do we work,
live and play?
The "Ann Arbor" part of our name can be a little deceiving. For the most
part we are "Ann Arborites" but we have members who live all over
Washtenaw County as well as in Livingston, Oakland, and Wayne Counties.
You can say the same thing about the events we organize. Most of them take
place somewhere around town but we also occasionally wander as close as
Ypsilanti or as far away as Traverse City (ROAD TRIP!).
Using "Ann Arbor" in our name also doesn't tell the whole story when it comes to the people who benefit from our community service activities. Our community impact sometimes goes way beyond our city. Many of our events impact much of Southeast Michigan or Washtenaw County.
